Portia is adistinctive genus oflong-legged ornate spiders which have attracted the attention of naturalists onaccount oftheir conspicuous leg fringes and abdominal hair tufts.

Males' bodies are 5 to millimetres long, with carapaces to millimetres : Arachnida. Portia schultzi is a jumping spider which ranges from South Africa in the south to Kenya in the north, and also is found in West Africa and Madagascar.
